It doesn’t seem like long ago that micro sim cards were brand new, and quite a shock to find when you opened up your brand new mobile phone and found a tiny version of the sim card you were used to lurking inside. Brought to the mass market with the iPhone 4, the micro sim card is now a feature of most high end new handsets, as well as the iPad and iPad 2.
To all intents and purposes, the micro sim is actually identical to the ‘standard’ sim card were all used to, and in fact it’s possible to trim down a standard sim to the micro sim’s size and it’ll work perfectly. We don’t recommend it though, and here’s why…
The time has come where people are starting to complete their minimum term contracts on handsets which use the micro sims, so you can now order a new micro sim for free from the UK networks to take up the fantastic offers on sim-only and pay as you go plans. Here at Free Micro Sim Card we have put together all the deals on offer from the major networks, as well as the slightly smaller ones, and even some you might not have heard of!
Each network has got its very own page, headed up by a quick glance table of what’s on offer in terms of features, how much it will cost you, and how to get one sent out to you (for free of course). We’ll then go into an enormous amount of depth, for anyone who’s interested in the devil of the detail, so that you can either just grab a quick deal from the quick glance table or read each last tiny detail!
You can find each network’s page on the menu, so all you need to do is choose your preferred company (a good place to start is the network that provided you with your phone as it may be locked to them – more on that later). We’re also working on a comparison table for comparing the deals across networks, but that’s not quite ready for the prime time yet.
To get your sim, you’ll need to click through the link provided next to the package you like the look of, and complete the order form. You’ll receive your free sim cards through the post (sometimes the networks run promotions where they’ll send you one or two to give to your friends too). Just pop open the pack when it arrives and you’ll usually find your micro sim mounted in a credit card sized piece of card. All you need to do is replace your old sim card in your handset and follow the instructions provided in the pack. This may involve calling the network to activate the sim, and top it up if you’ve opted for a pay as you go tariff.
Finally, when you place your order, please be sure to check whether the form you are completing has an option for micro sims or standard sims, there’s nothing more frustrating than opening up the pack to find you’ve ordered the wrong size!
Thanks for visiting our site, we hope you find what you’re looking for and find some great savings on your next mobile bill!
